INSPIRE AWARDS-MANAK 2020-21 REGISTRATION ALL DETAILS
The 'Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research' (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the major programs of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. D.S.T. The Inspire Awards - Manic (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) run by the National Innovation Foundation - India (NIF) aims to encourage students to study in grades 6-10.
The plan is to target 10 lakh original ideas / innovations in science and social programs to promote a culture of creativity and innovative thinking in school children. Under this scheme, schools can nominate 5 best original ideas / innovations of students through this website till 30th September 2020.
The scheme operates as follows:
Awareness and capacity building of district, state and school level workers across the country through regional workshops, audio deo-visual tools and literature.
Organizing internal thought competitions in schools through the e-MIAS (e-Management IN F in Management Awards Manak Scheme) portal and nominating two to three best original ideas in any Indian language. Schools should register themselves on the E-MIAS portal. A list of the top 100,000 (one lakh) ideas, with the potential for NIF to meet social needs through science and technology.
Distribution of INSPIRE award of ISR 10,000 in the bank accounts of short listed students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
Organization of District Level Exhibition and Project Competition (DLEPC) by District / State Officers and Shortlisting of 10,000 Best Ideas / Innovations for State Level Exhibition and Project Competition (SLEPC).
Organization of State Level Exhibition and Project Competition (SLEPC) to further shortlist top 1000 ideas / innovations for National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC). At this stage, NIF will provide mentoring assistance to students for the development of prototypes, in coordination with reputed educational and technical institutions of the country.
The choice of ideas / innovations will be based on innovation, social utility, environmental friendliness, user friendliness and comparative advantages over existing similar technologies.
Demonstration of 1000 best ideas / innovations in National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) and shortlisting of top 60 innovations for national awards and future direction.
Consider NIF's top 60 ideas / innovations for product / process development and their engagement with other NIF / DST schemes and their performance in the annual Festival Innovation and Reprene Entrepreneurship (FINE).
"In order to get maximum enrollment for the new academic session 2020-21, all middle school and high school students have been asked to participate in the national level award competition," Jitendra Shukla, director of public information, said on Monday.
The Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspirational Research (INSPIRE) scheme is the main program of the Department of Science and Technology.
- Students from class 6 to 10 are eligible for registration. Selected candidates are given a grant of Rs. 10,000 to create their innovative science based models.
- Students whose models are selected will be given Rs. 500,000 can be helped, the committee said.
- In 2019-20, 37,359 students were registered from Chhattisgarh.

Schools registered under the INSPIRE Awards Manak Scheme, in each academic year, can nominate the best-2-3 best ideas from their schools through mode line in the department's e-Management's INSPIRE Awards Scheme (E-MIAS) web portal using the link. : www.inspireawards-dst.gov.in.
Nomin online nominations for 2020-2021 have been resumed from June 1, 2020. Schools can now submit their online nominations on the above web portal. This time can be used by them for the generation of innovative ideas which can be submitted to the online portal when schools reopen.
Young students hungry for creativity and innovation can be provided a suitable platform to showcase their talents..
